WELCOME TO THE NEW “QUOTE ... UNQUOTE”

WEBSITE

FROM NIGEL REES

REVISED 18 JULY 2014

The BBC Radio quiz Quote ... Unquote has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in the United Kingdom since 1976.

Devised and introduced by me, the world of Quote ... Unquote now encompasses a substantial archive of material concerning quotations and ‘well-known phrases and sayings’ of many types.

When the programme is not on the air, searching for ‘lost’ quotations and for the origins of phrases and sayings is undertaken in The “Quote ... Unquote” Newsletter and through this website.

Series 50 of the radio show has now been recorded and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 from Monday 11 August.  Listen out also for five vintage editions on Radio 4 Extra around the same time.  Meanwhile for a look back to Series 49, photos of guests and for the story of our signature tune, go to BROADCAST NEWS.

The July 2014 issue of the Newsletter is now available – free – as an e-mail-attached PDF.  To be put on the e-mailing list go to HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH “QUOTE ... UNQUOTE”.
